Google Docs

This week I created a free editable document in Google Docs for a Green Team initiative.  We are planning a National Wildlife Day Trivia Walk for employees and need a shared editable document where members can input their ideas for trivia Q&A.

If you already have a Google account, it's simple to get started. If not, you can set-up a free google account within minutes. Then go to Google Docs. For the Green Team purpose I selected "Personal" since there is no risk involved in the information we are sharing. You can select "Business" for added security and there is a 14-day free trial available.

I then selected a blank document and created an outline. To make the document editable for others, you click on the blue "Share" button in the top right.

You will have the opportunity to name your document and then select if you want visitors to be able to view only or edit. You can also make the document public or only view able to anyone with the link.

I clicked on "Get shareable link" at the top right to copy a link that I then sent out to the team. Below is what the Green Team Google Doc looks like.  I appreciate Google Docs as a free easy-to-use way to share editable documents. For what other purposes would a Google Doc be useful?

Fun way to incorporate GoogleDoc into an engaging and team oriented activity.
